Front End Developer - SC Cleared

This is an exciting opportunity for an Security Cleared (SC) Front End Developer to provide critical front end development services to a high profile Defence customer. The successful candidate will play a key role in the implementation & maintenance of scalable solutions central to the operation of a UK front line security force.

Responsibilities:

• Designing, developing, and testing UI for mobile and web applications.
• Building reusable code and libraries for future use.
• Accurately translating user and business needs into functional frontend code.
• Working within cross-functional agile teams to deliver live services.
• Maintaining clean and organised Git repositories.
• Implementing service side rendering (SSR) using Next.js.
• Optimising frontend performance for speed and efficiency.
• Writing comprehensive automated tests (unit, integration and end-to-end) to ensure quality and prevent regressions.

Required Skills:

• Excellent frontend development experience: TypeScript, React and Vanilla CSS.
• Strong User Interface Design skills and web development experience.
• Experience with REST APIs.
• Experience with testing frameworks like Jest and Cypress (Integration testing).
• Comfortable with Docker, Jenkins, DevOps, etc.
• Experience working in the Ministry of Defence (MOD) or similar secure environments.
• Proven experience of working in an agile team, building Digital Services for Government clients (GDS).
• Familiarity using Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
• Excellent consulting/stakeholder engagement skills.
• Willingness to participate in work-shopping/requirement gathering/definition side of the engagement.

Additional Information:

• Rate offered: Up to £540 per day.
• IR35 Status: Outside.
• Start: ASAP.
• Duration: 12 month initial sign up, significant opportunity for extension.
• Travel: Remote with 2 days onsite per week (Portsmouth).
• Required: Active SC Clearance.
