Full Stack Developer

The role:

You will play an essential part in a newly created technology function as the first full-time development hire, working closely alongside our Technology Director and team of contract engineers. As a Full Stack Developer, you will contribute to cutting-edge projects and be an integral part of the software development life cycle. Your expertise will drive the success of our products and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our technology initiatives at Cubitts. This role adds value by building and improving the technology that drives our customer-centric spectacles company.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Hands-on Development: Actively develop and enhance our technology ecosystem, including adding features to the Shopify store, building efficiency tools and systems, contributing to our scalable mobile app, and modernising the data pipeline and transformation processes.
  • Technical Leadership and Architecture: Provide technical guidance, ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices, and collaborate on efficient, scalable, and reusable application architecture.
  • System Reliability and Optimisation: Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure optimal performance, implement best practices for testing, code quality, and security, and optimise code for performance, scalability, and responsiveness.
  • Project Ownership and Delivery: Take ownership of projects, break down work into manageable tasks, prioritise and sequence work within a Kanban-style workflow, and deliver features and improvements iteratively.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, and suggest improvements.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, gather requirements, and share insights.

  • AWS cloud based integration and transformation (EC2 & Lambdas)
  • React, Typescript & Python web applications and microservices.

  • Sylius - Symfony PHP based headless e-commerce platform
  • PostgreSQL, MySQL & Mongo databases.
  • Redshift data warehouse with EL / DBT data pipeline
  • Cross-platform mobile app.

What we're looking for:

  • 5 Years of experience in Full stack development.
  • Strong technical background with proficiency in including but not limited to React, Next.js, Typescript, Python, PHP, SQL and AWS. Mobile technologies a bonus.
  • Knowledgeable in security / personal data protection principles and GDPR / HIPAA.
  • Thorough testing and debugging skills with browser console and external tools.
  • Experience developing for responsive layouts for a desktop, tablet, and mobile.
  • Experience with Shopify themes preferred.
  • Ability to communicate well, giving proactive feedback to peers and team matched with essential organisation skills.

Contract:

  • Type: Permanent- 40 hours
  • Salary: £52,868- £58,742
  • Reporting to: Technology Director
  • Working location: Office based in Brewery Road, King Cross, London.
