We're now looking for a Global Marketing Planning Director to take the lead on aligning and elevating our marketing strategy across regions, brands, and specialist teams. In this senior leadership role, you'll bring together diverse voices and expertise, ensuring that our global marketing plans are cohesive, data-informed, and built to deliver impact. This role is based in Central London on a hybrid basis.

Reporting to the VP Global Insights, you'll play a critical role in driving clarity, consistency, and collaboration across the entire marketing function - helping ensure that Merlin's campaigns are not only exciting, but strategically aligned to our wider business goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Leading the global marketing planning process - from annual calendars to multi-year roadmaps.
  2. Aligning marketing strategy with Merlin's growth ambitions, ensuring cross-functional collaboration with Commercial, Digital, Finance, and beyond.
  3. Acting as the central connector between local and global marketing teams, sharing best practices and creating consistency.
  4. Championing campaign excellence - ensuring every initiative is on-brand, performance-led and driven by insight.
  5. Using global customer data and market trends to shape bold, effective strategies tailored to each region.
  6. Managing significant marketing budgets and ensuring ROI is top of mind.
  7. Measuring what matters - and adjusting course when needed to keep us on track.
Qualifications & Experience
  1. Has a proven track record in senior-level marketing strategy and planning - ideally in a global, multi-region business.
  2. Can juggle big budgets, complex projects, and diverse teams with ease.
  3. Knows how to turn insight into action, and strategy into results.
  4. Understands the power of brand and the nuances of digital, partnerships, media, and more.
  5. Brings a collaborative, people-first mindset - and loves helping teams do their best work.
  6. Has experience in entertainment, tourism, hospitality, or a similarly fast-paced consumer sector.
  7. Is driven, curious, and ready to roll up their sleeves.
