Job Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary liaison for grid connection matters across all project phases, ensuring timely and effective progress.

  • Collaborate with Development, Investment, and external teams to evaluate potential acquisitions, assess grid-related risks, and support project valuation.

  • Work with partners and the Development team to advance the project pipeline, ensuring milestones are met.

  • Coordinate with EPC and Project Delivery teams to align grid connection schedules with overall project timelines.

  • Support the Asset Management team in ensuring compliance with grid connection agreements and in synchronizing grid maintenance and project maintenance plans.

  • Stay updated on GB grid policy and regulatory changes at both transmission and distribution levels, sharing insights across the organization.

  • Assess available capacity in the grid, by conducting studies with third parties and engaging with DNOs / TSOs.

Candidate Profile
  • Extensive knowledge of the UK grid connection framework, including technical standards and procedures for integrating generation assets.

  • Strong familiarity with UK energy market regulations, including the Electricity Act and relevant codes like CUSC and Grid Code.

  • Demonstrated experience managing grid connection processes across various project phases in the UK.

  • Proficient in project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk assessment, and skilled in handling technical aspects such as G99 applications and grid cost assessments.

  • 5-10 years of experience in renewable energy project development.

  • A degree in a relevant field and expertise in power systems, including electrical design and load flow analysis.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills, with an ability to communicate effectively in various formats.

  • A proactive, flexible, and detail-oriented professional with a strong commitment to integrity and continuous improvement.

Location and Commitments
  • Permanent, full-time role based in Bristol with a hybrid working model and occasional travel as needed.
