Ring is a leader in developing security products, such as Video Doorbells, Spotlights and Cameras. Our Product Integrity team aims to develop reliable and robust products that delight our customers.
Ring is seeking a Hardware Validation Engineer who will play a crucial role, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance.

Key job responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement detailed validation plans tailored to specific hardware designs.
  2. Collaborate with design teams to understand and test against product requirements.
  3. Analyze and interpret data from validation tests, offering insights and recommendations.
  4. Experienced in testing automation.
  5. Document validation processes, findings, and insights in a structured and clear manner.
  6. Maintain, calibrate, and oversee the use of validation equipment to guarantee consistent results.
  7. Work cross-functionally to troubleshoot and address any hardware issues identified during validation.

A day in the life:
As a hardware validation engineer, your main job is to make sure our products are the best for our customers. You will set up and run tests on the hardware products to ensure everything works just right. When you look at the test results, you can figure out what we can do better. You also need to document all your findings clearly; every step you take is about making our customers happy and sticking to the top quality we promise.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related fields.
Minimum of 5 years of experience working on product development in R&D environment.
Strong understanding of schematics and PCB layout. Ability to review, analyze circuit design and provide recommendations for design teams.
Proficiency in hardware design software such as Altium 365, Cadence, or similar eCAD tools.
Proficiency in creating and executing test plans for hardware components and technical document skills.
Hands-on experience in lab environments with test equipment such as oscilloscope, multi-meter, etc.
Strong problem-solving skills for identifying hardware failures, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in New Production Introduction (NPI). Understanding of product lifecycle from prototyping to mass production.
Experience in RF Testing/Signal Integrity & Power Integrity/Acoustic Testing.
Experience in working with Contract Manufacturing.
Experience working closely with design, firmware, software, and manufacturing teams.
Experience with programming languages such as Python.
