Wondering about a day in the life of our Head of Climate Resilience and Technical Advisory?

Your primary objective is to provide strategic leadership for BRC's international community-led climate resilience programming, as well as all technical advisory support provided to partners and BRC international colleagues.

You'll have the opportunity to shape the technical quality and direction of BRC's international programme support, ensuring it has clear strategic added value within the IFRC Network.

You'll lead a team of global technical advisors responsible for working with BRC regional teams and National Society partners to design and deliver quality programmes, support effective fundraising, influencing, and quality assurance.

You'll be accountable for ensuring that all BRC-supported programmes meet the Core Humanitarian Standards and agreed IFRC quality standards in Community Engagement and Accountability (CEA) and Protection, Gender and Inclusion (PGI).

By joining our organisation, you'll have the unique chance to make a significant impact for people in crisis. If you're up for the challenge, seize this opportunity and apply now!

To be a successful Head of Climate Resilience and Technical Advisory, you'll need:

  • A collaborative and proactive approach, experience managing a high-performing team (in complex and often remote environments).
  • Experience in the humanitarian or international development sector, working in an operational lead position. Ideally, you're knowledgeable about the work of the Red Cross and Crescent Movement.
  • Skilled in communicating clearly and persuasively, with a proven ability to work independently and develop strong interpersonal relationships.
  • To be able to think strategically, bringing vision and direction on a departmental scale with technical and operational influence.
  • To be well organised and able to plan and manage a varied workload, responding to and prioritising a range of competing demands.
  • Extensive experience of working in building partnerships and professional relationships in developing countries.
  • Good knowledge of fundraising and resource mobilisation opportunities (including institutional fundraising and private sector engagement).

Please Note: BRC would be willing to consider a working location outside of the UK. You would need to work in a current BRC office location where you have the right to work. Salary and benefits will vary in line with local market conditions and regulations.

Interested? The closing date for applications is 23.59 on the 6th May 2025.
