Head of Cyber Security and Resilience
Full time (35 hrs/wk), permanent
Based Horizons (Reading, Berkshire) with up to 2 days per week working from home
Salary range £60,000 to £70,000 pa plus benefits

We have had an exciting opportunity arise for someone to join our fast-paced and ever-growing Technology team. This is a brand-new role, created to take the lead in managing UCEM's cyber security infrastructure, ensuring the establishment of policies, procedures and technology solution in support of our response to the continued cyber threats. This is an exciting time for UCEM, as we will soon embark on our next 5-year strategy with a focus on Digital transformation and, as the Head of Cyber Security and Resilience, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for shaping and implementing a Cyber Security and Resilience strategy.
Your accountabilities and responsibilities include:
- Design and develop a fit for purpose cyber security and resilience strategy that aligns with institutional priorities contained within the organisations overarching Digital strategy
- Shape and progress an associated suite of documents (including robust cyber security policies, procedures and standards) that will support the continued role out of cyber security awareness
- Coordinate rapid response to reported cyber security incidents. This includes managing investigations and drafting lesson learnt reports
- Devise and oversee the cyber security budget to ensure resources meet institutional requirements and needs
Our main requirements:
- Degree level qualification
- One or more Cyber qualifications i.e. CISSP, CISA, CISM, CISA, CRISC or relevant experience
- Previous experience working in a senior cyber operations leadership role where technology is a business-critical service
- Developing and implementing a Cyber Security strategy, roadmaps, associated capabilities and governance across multiple teams/workstreams
- Ensuring the achievement and maintenance of security and Cyber certifications i.e. Cyber Essentials Plus, PCI-DSS etc.
