Are you a qualified Design & Technology Teacher or Design Specialist with leadership experience looking for a Head of Department role within a secondary school in Abingdon?

Academics Ltd are working with an outstanding school in Abingdon who are looking to appoint a Head of Design & Technology to join them in September 2025. We are looking to appoint a fully qualified teacher (with QTS) who has proven leadership experience, is passionate about their subject, and can lead a team with high expectations and strong classroom management. This is also a great opportunity for an experienced teacher looking to take the next step in their career and lead a successful department.

The school is looking for a Head of Design & Technology who:

1. Is passionate about their subject and has excellent leadership skills to inspire and manage a team
2. Is interested in the science of learning and is committed to continuous improvement
3. Can demonstrate excellent organisational and inter-personal skills, with the ability to manage and lead a team effectively
4. Has a clear vision, energy, and commitment to all aspects of school life
5. Has a desire and passion to make a real difference to the lives and life-chances of our students
6. Is a Design & Technology Specialist
7. Holds QTS (with PGCE in Secondary Design & Technology) - Applications from experienced teachers welcome
8. Has experience working in KS3-KS5 with leadership experience
