Head of Employment Law - Cardiff - Bristol

HCB Widdows Mason is looking for a proactive and strategic Head of Employment to build and create a new Employment Law practice.

In this vital role, you will be responsible for building the Employment team while providing expert legal advice to both employers and employees on a range of employment issues.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Build from scratch a new Employment Law team, ensuring high standards of legal service and client care.
2. Providing comprehensive legal advice on employment contracts, employee rights, workplace disputes, and compliance with employment law.
3. Developing and implementing strategies to expand and enhance our Employment Law practice.
4. Representing clients in negotiations, arbitrations, and litigation as necessary.
5. Leading training and workshops for clients on employment-related matters.
6. Staying current on employment legislation and best practices to ensure compliance.
7. Building strong relationships with clients and collaborating with other departments for integrated services.
8. Mentoring junior solicitors and staff, fostering their growth and professional development.
9. Managing departmental budgets and financial performance.

Requirements:

1. Qualified solicitor with substantial experience in employment law.
2. Exceptional Business Development skills.
3. Strong leadership and management capabilities.
4. Proven business development skills and client relationship management.
5. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
6. Ability to handle complex and sensitive employment issues with discretion.
7. Knowledge of both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
