Head Of IT

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Head of IT to lead and evolve our clients technology estate. This is a pivotal role, responsible for both the day-to-day operation and support of the existing infrastructure and for delivering a transformational IT strategy that will underpin significant business growth.

The successful candidate will bring strong technical and leadership experience, excellent stakeholder communication, and a hands-on understanding of what it takes to drive performance and reliability across both legacy and modern platforms.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage the IT function, including network infrastructure, service delivery, and systems support.
2. Develop and deliver a comprehensive IT strategy aligned to business goals and growth plans.
3. Oversee the support and optimisation of the existing IT estate, including legacy platforms.
4. Ensure high levels of service delivery and user satisfaction across the business.
5. Act as the lead for all major IT projects, ensuring delivery to time, scope and budget.
6. Collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organisation to understand needs and provide scalable, secure, and innovative solutions.

Ideal Experience & Skills

1. Experience supporting and maintaining AS400 / iSeries mainframes.
2. Working knowledge of RPG programming.
3. Strong understanding of the Microsoft 365 stack including Power Platform, SharePoint, Azure, Teams.
4. In-depth experience with networking infrastructure, architecture and cloud technologies.
5. Familiarity with data warehousing, system integrations and enterprise architecture.
6. Demonstrated experience managing a service delivery team, with a focus on excellent customer support and system uptime.
7. Proven ability to lead and deliver strategic IT transformation initiatives.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.

This is a fantastic role which will be hybrid position. You will be coming in as a technically strong and aware candidate, particularly around the networks and infrastructure aspect of the IT estate.
