Job Description

Join us as our Head of Marketing Engagement for Retail Banking

  • This is a highly influential role where you'll be responsible for leading the customer marketing engagement strategies across the Retail Bank, working closely with, and influencing senior leaders to support the delivery of engagement marketing transformation across the franchise

  • You'll build capability and infrastructure to transform and scale customer marketing engagement strategies, while leading a team of marketing professionals, translating strategy into operational management activities

What you'll do

Working closely with senior stakeholders, you'll deliver our marketing engagement strategy across Retail Banking. You'll also lead on deepening customer engagement to drive business growth, income, and customer value and loyalty, while recommending and delivering a portfolio of products and services in line with the marketing service proposition.

This will involve effective collaboration with the Marketing Centres of Excellence and all other relevant internal and external partners including data teams, journey and product owners within our Retail Bank. We'll expect you to provide advice and insight to business stakeholders on marketing strategy, including annual business planning, marketing campaigns, and proposition exploration and development.

In addition, you'll:

  • Be the customer champion within the bank and continuously push for the best customer outcomes

  • Create a three-year marketing engagement strategy that aligns to our growth strategy and brand to deliver a joined-up marketing plan

  • Support the Product and Journey teams to align the app and digital journeys to the engagement marketing strategy

  • Support our Marketing Centre of Expertise leaders and their teams to understand the business drivers, strategy, engagement requirements and commercial objectives to ensure all marketing efforts are reflective of business needs

  • Lobby, champion, and drive the franchise and customer goals into the marketing plans, campaigns, and investments

  • Identify key marketing priorities, required marketing engagement and AI/Martech capabilities through the provision of expert diagnostics, analysis, and decision support and make recommendations to the business and Centre of Expertise to ensure a joined up, functional approach

  • Drive collaboration with our Communications function to deliver fully integrated marketing campaigns across all promotional tools and channels

  • Lead the strategy and communication for complex migration strategies including product migrations, M&A activity, and other complex customer communication plans

  • Lead a team of 20 expert marketers in engagement to deliver the engagement strategies

The skills you'll need

To succeed in this role, you'll need a proven experience in leading CRM and customer engagement along with strong influencing and stakeholder engagement skills at a senior level.

We're also looking for:

  • Experience in working closely with CRM data and Martech teams to drive customer engagement campaigns and customer outcomes

  • Experience in developing customer communication, using AI to drive more efficient and effective content creation, and managing creative content providers

  • Experience in digital marketing and digital journey communications and content including app, push, and e-mail communication

  • Experience of leading diverse, professional teams

  • Outstanding communication skills with strong organisation skills

  • The ability to make data driven decisions and support a culture of continuous improvement
