Job Description

Health & Safety Advisors - exciting opportunity in Dyce, Aberdeen! Join a leading company specialising in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of industrial gas turbines, compressors, and rotating equipment. This is a 6-month fixed-term Health & Safety Advisor position with the potential for extension. Duties and Responsibilities:

Planning & Organising
  • Providing guidance on all health and safety-related matters.
  • Maintaining the integrity management process and coordinating statutory inspections.
  • Keeping the Health and Safety Legal Register up to date.
  • Maintaining registers for Risk, COSHH, Fire, PUWER, DSEAR, Noise, Face Fit, Asbestos, and First Aid.
  • Overseeing the PPE and RPE equipment registers.
  • Coordinating the Health Surveillance programme.
  • Preparing and presenting relevant Health and Safety information at annual management review meetings.
  • Monitoring and reporting on KPIs.
  • Developing and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Updating and managing the integrated management system manuals.
Technical/Operations
  • Providing advice and support on root cause investigations.
  • Registering and tracking all QHS&E incidents, ensuring progress is monitored and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Assisting with internal QHSE audits.
  • Reviewing and approving Risk Assessments and Method Statements for maintenance work.
  • Advising on Health and Safety aspects related to major facility projects.
  • Ensuring timely development and review of Fire, DSEAR, Risk, and COSHH assessments, providing guidance on their implementation.
General
  • Actively supporting Environmental and Decarbonisation initiatives.
  • Encouraging and contributing to Lean and Six Sigma projects.
  • Ensuring administrative tasks are completed effectively and on time.
  • Identifying and promoting improvement opportunities that enhance safety, quality, and environmental responsibility.
  • Minimal travel required for this role.

Requirements:

Key Skills & Technical Requirements
  • Internal auditor - ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or ISO 45001.
  • Fire Risk Assessor.
  • Noise Risk Assessor.
  • Detailed knowledge of all company Accreditation Standards.
Qualifications/Experience
  • NEBOSH General Certificate.
  • Literate in MS applications.
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of company IT systems.
