London, Birmingham or Sunderland with Hybrid Working (other RCN locations may be available), 35 hours per week, Permanent

Salary range per annum - £66,909 - £75,492 plus London Weighting up to £5,094 (as applicable)

As a Health, Safety and Wellbeing National Officer, you will provide health, safety and wellbeing expertise to support the creation and implementation of health, safety and wellbeing strategies for the RCN, ensuring alignment with member interests and organisational goals. This includes monitoring the external environment for new and emerging hazards, working closely with internal and external stakeholders and partnership working with national elected and appointed committees.

To join us you'll need a Post Graduate Diploma or equivalent Level 6 qualification in Occupational Health and Safety with a minimum of three years' experience working in a health and safety role. You should have experience of undertaking and managing negotiations and consultations in relation to health, safety and wellbeing issues and experience of strategic working with trade unions, employer organisations and statutory bodies. You must have excellent organisational and planning skills, be able to manage your time effectively and ensure that work is appropriately prioritised and completed on time.

We offer a competitive pay structure with annual pay progression until you reach the top of the salary scale. We normally offer new employees the first point of the salary range, although you may be able to negotiate a higher starting salary depending on your skills, experience and current salary.

Our hybrid working model allows for up to 60% of your working time to be carried out from home. At least 40% of your working time will be spent working in person.
