Home and Garden Reviews Writer - Recommended
Telegraph Recommended is our highly trusted product review channel and we have ambitions for it to grow significantly over the next few years.
To support the team with this aim, we are looking for a talented writer who will focus on creating high-quality product reviews and buying guides across home, garden and sleep.
This is a crowded marketplace, so we need someone who understands what our readers want from a range of products and is able to cut through the noise when delivering analysis and expertise.
Key Responsibilities- Write new content for Telegraph Recommended, including individual product reviews, buying guides and deals pages.
- Update existing home, garden and sleep content in line with seasonal peaks and SEO best practice.
- Work with the Recommended Commissioning Editor, Affiliates team and SEO team to proactively suggest ideas for new content and ways the Telegraph can drive registrations and subscriptions via product-based content.
- Research new product categories within the home, garden and sleep space to ensure our content reflects the current marketplace.
- Create informative videos that complement existing content and can be used across multiple platforms.
- Cover seasonal shopping events, such as Black Friday, with real-time coverage in line with Recommended sales guidelines.
- Adhere to The Telegraph's high publishing standards for the online audience by ensuring all content is engaging, accurate and expert-led.
- Accomplished writer. First and foremost, you need to be a wordsmith who can craft authoritative, engaging copy to house style.
- Ability to think critically. You'll need to identify quickly what our readers need from different products, and then research, test and evaluate products from that perspective.
- Confidence in building and articulating a point of view. Your reviews will guide our readers in their consumer decision-making, so we need a writer who can reflect The Telegraph's standards of journalism by researching products to the nth degree. The insights you provide will be informed, accurate and intelligent.
- Ability to film hands-on product testing. We want to showcase the level of testing behind our reviews in multiple formats, so you'll need to feel comfortable and confident in front of a camera.
- An interest in home, garden and sleep products is essential, from coffee machines to mattresses to robot lawnmowers.
- Experience building and publishing content via Content Management Systems.
- Previous experience writing editorial ecommerce content is desirable, as well as an awareness of SEO best practice.
