Skills & Experience:
  1. Ideally have or be working towards the (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, CIPD) qualification.
  2. Up to date knowledge and understanding of employment legislation.
  3. Experience and knowledge of commercial development.
  4. Experience in a Human Resources Consultancy role.
  5. Experience in the provision of both general operational HR & Payroll advice and guidance to managers and/or staff.
  6. Working in a technical HR role, providing advisory/regulatory advice within a customer-focused service delivery organisation, interpreting and applying HR policies and procedures.
  7. Possess good IT skills.
  8. Have excellent communication skills.
What's involved with this role:

An enthusiastic HR Consultant to join the HR Consultancy Team, which delivers exceptional customer service across the Council's four directorates. As the first point of contact for HR advice and guidance, you will ensure high standards of customer care and support. With up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation, you will assist Senior HR Consultants and HR Business Partners with various HR functions, contributing to the effective delivery of the team's services.

Key responsibilities:
  1. Casework support linked to all aspects of the employee life cycle (for example recruitment, capability, disciplinary, grievance, Dignity at Work, redundancy, retirement).

  2. Supporting organisational change across the Council and with partner organisations.

  3. Providing advice on the Council's policy framework, maternity, paternity, and other types of absence.

  4. Providing accurate management information and data analysis to inform workforce planning.

  5. Planning and delivery of learning events on a range of HR topics.

  6. Development of HR policies and procedures.
