A little more about your role:

Join our multi-disciplinary offshore transmission team, supporting asset owners and operators of HVDC systems throughout all lifecycle stages of a project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fulfil the role of Project Director for WSP in delivery of HVDC Projects (such as Tarchon, MaresConnect, Celtic Interconnector)
  • Deliver expert advice and services to our Clients relating to the development, construction and operation of HVDC projects
  • Lead and develop Client relationships with UK TSOs and private developers (offshore wind and interconnectors)
  • Strengthen relationships with WSP in other regions (USA, Canada and Australia in particular)
  • Represent WSP with participation in industry events

What would a typical week look like?

  • Regular team meeting to discuss the plan for the week and news and developments across the industry
  • Regular meetings with Clients to discuss progress and delivery
  • Internal key account management meetings with colleagues from other service lines in WSP
  • Travel to UK location for 1-2 days to attend project workshops, site visit or project meetings
  • Review of project deliverables from HVDC manufacturers
  • Compose technical notes or presentation materials to provide advice to Client teams
  • Support to WSP proposal to secure new project work
  • Attend WSP Energy "Decision to Bid" meeting
  • Attend interviews with candidates interested to join the team

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate:

  • Expert knowledge of HVDC construction contracts, interface management, regulatory and commercial matters to support our team and clients in the delivery of "non-technical" services.
  • Experience and knowledge of HVDC projects throughout your career.
  • Experience of project and resource management in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
