Job Description

Job Title: Hybrid Risk Manager - Car Rental Sector

Job Location: Home working 3 days and Leicester office 2 times a week

Salary: £40k -£45k

In the role you will monitor and reduce risk on behalf of our car rental client in the UK and Ireland through the management of the Risk Register, liaising with different departments including ECI as well as risk management analysis and related activities.

Management of the Risk Register, Risk Committee and be the liaison point between Risk and Compliance.

You will ensure all suppliers work effectively together in the best interests of the company.

They need you to monitor business actions and audits to ensure that any identified risks are investigated, mitigation is in place or is registered and flagged to the Risk Committee.

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with compliance to ensure a seamless, collective, and effective approach is taken to managing risk and compliance in the business.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the Risk Register is up to date and any actions are followed up and completed in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Analyse costs and trends for third party claim and accident damage costs.
  • Provide recommendations in relation to process changes and how the business strategy should be amended to reduce risk and costs whilst taking into account the wider impact of these changes.
  • Responsibility for risk related aspects of the customer qualification tool.
  • Review recommendations for rule changes.
  • Work with insurers, brokers and the Insurance Manager to identify areas of risk, work together to reduce claims costs and analyse how to mitigate risks within the business.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and projects as the risk expert.
  • Work with other areas of the business to develop process improvements which will have a positive impact on risk to the business.
  • Work with ECI to ensure that we comply with any requirements and liaise with other countries to standardise processes where beneficial.
  • Responsibility for setting parameters and guidelines for risk management.
  • Referral point for complex risk queries.

Key skills and attributes required:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent Communication Skills, both verbal and written.
  • PC Skills: Essential knowledge of working with Google Mail, Google Drive, Google Sheets
  • Can thrive in fast moving, high pressure situations.

  • Strong people skills with the ability to influence people at all levels,
  • The ability to coordinate team members from different areas of the business to achieve shared goals
