Salary: up to £84,000 per annum dependent upon experience

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time

The Role and Responsibilities

Due to continued growth, we are offering an exciting opportunity for a lawyer with legislative or specialist drafting experience to join our legal team within the Office of the General Counsel.

The ideal candidate will bring strong drafting skills and an ability to manage varied stakeholder relationships. You will advise colleagues across various specialties to make transparent and clear decisions and maintain a robust regulatory framework.

As a member of the legal team, you will have the opportunity to work across many areas of the organisation, including developing new aviation legislation and policy, shaping safety regulations, and managing litigation.

The key responsibilities for this role are:

  • Developing, drafting and revising legislative documents.
  • Providing high quality, user-friendly legal advice on a wide range of matters.
  • Leading client relationships for allocated cases or projects.
  • Working effectively within integrated teams.
  • Collaborating with all lawyers in the team.
  • Building and maintaining trusted professional relationships with clients.
  • Aligning legal services with client demands.
  • Contributing to the smooth running of the legal team.

About You

We are seeking a lawyer with 6+PQE. Candidates with alternative routes to qualification or who have qualified abroad are welcome.

The role would be best suited to someone who has the following skills and qualifications:

  • You are a solicitor, barrister or chartered legal executive qualified to practice in the UK with at least 6+PQE.
  • You can communicate legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders clearly.
  • You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • You can build trusted relationships with colleagues.
  • You have the willingness to learn new areas of law quickly.
  • You are resilient under pressure, managing multiple deadlines.
  • You are committed to your own professional development.

Desirable (although not essential):

  • You have experience in legislative or regulatory drafting.
  • You have public law or regulatory experience.
