The role
As an Information Security Specialist, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be responsible for providing a high level of professional InfoSec support across Babcock's Mission Systems business unit.

Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for supporting the effective delivery of all day-to-day InfoSec related matters ensuring key support functions are delivered in a smart, flexible and holistic manner to ensure the business continues to operate safely and securely.

• Support vulnerability management activities such as vulnerability assessments and security control assessments.
• Support the maintenance of the programme Information Security Management System (ISO27001).
• Support the Information Security Manager to deliver Information Security best practices across the programme.
• Create and maintain high quality security documentation, such as vulnerability and control assessment reports.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Information Security Specialist

• IT background with roles within networking/system engineering/administration.
• Experience or awareness of Ministry of Defence Joint Service Publications (JSPs) such as JSP 440 and 604.
• Experience or awareness of Industry Standards including ISO27000, ISO28000, and NIST Cyber Security Framework.
• Experience or awareness of security control baselines such as NIST SP 800-53, CIS Benchmark, DISA STIGs.
• A broad understanding of computer and network technical architecture.

Qualifications for the Information Security Specialist

• Relevant higher education qualification or industry certification.
• Achieving or working towards ISO27001 Implementor / Assessor.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a SOLE UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
