Description

London Tech Week is the UK's flagship tech event. It champions UK and European tech on a global stage and connects the dots between the worlds of start-ups and scale-ups, corporate innovation and technology transformation, and technology policy and leadership. It is officially supported by the UK government and has just celebrated its 12th anniversary in 2024. We're proud to work closely with our partners Informa Tech Founders and Tech London Advocates to deliver this event.

Purpose of role

The Innovation Programme Manager will oversee a portfolio of commercial innovation events and engagement activities within the Innovation Programmes team. Their primary focus will be creating products as part of our partner ecosystem engagement (working with corporates) that support their strategic priorities. Additionally, they will serve as the project lead for London & Partners' involvement in London Tech Week as a co-founder. This includes supporting colleagues in maximising their engagement at the event and fostering trusted, collaborative partnerships with our co-founders, Informa Tech Founders and Tech London Advocates.

Taking London & Partners colleagues on a journey with us. Ensuring we are telling the right stories internally and externally and driving opportunities around the event for our clients.

Key Tasks

Project Management & Programme Management:

  • Project manage a cross-business team, use project management methodologies to ensure internal teams deliver their projects on time and have all the required information from our partners to be able to execute the event.
  • Speaker Management - acquire speakers for events through your own research and suggestions from London & Partners colleagues and our network.
  • Strategy development - work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to identify key areas and use your initiative and expertise to build products that fulfil these strategic aims.
  • Internal process management - seek to create operational efficiencies in cross departmental processes and systems to make events run more efficiently.
  • Ensure that L&P project management processes are followed and the CRM is updated, maintained, and accurately records all community engagement.

Communications & Stakeholder Management:

  • Lead communications and raise awareness of your portfolio of events amongst colleagues, their clients and the wider ecosystem and manage an internal champions group for London Tech Week.
  • Confidence building relationships with external stakeholders and commercial partners. Communicate and propose ecosystem engagement ideas to external stakeholders.
  • Prepare supporting assets, present, keep intranet up to date with information of your events.

Content/ product curation:

  • Experience creating and running commercial events, preferably in the tech sector.
  • Support event partners that have come through London & Partners with connecting to our global innovation ecosystem, with events on their booth and facilitating connections.
  • Oversee events budgets and spending.
  • Deliver a programme of community events, leading on content creation, curation, and delivery and ensure all events are of a very high quality and well attended. Where appropriate host or facilitate these events.
  • Work closely with the L&P sector leads (including Creative, Enterprise, Fintech, Life Sciences and Sustainability) to include high-quality speakers and develop content relevant to our communities and sector growth trends.
  • Manage engagement with our alumni communities and ensure they are aware of relevant L&P opportunities.
  • Ensure feedback (NPS) is monitored to continuously improve event satisfaction.
  • Support the partnerships team to identify potential commercial partnership conversations in relation to wider L&P programmes.
  • Perform data analysis and create data driven insights on programme content, Partners and community to inform critical decision making and programme content planning.
You'll have/bring

Skills:

  • Demonstrable track record of success in planning and delivering in person business events.
  • Proven work experience as a project manager or similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to craft copy to suit a wide variety of audiences and tones of voice, combined with a sharp attention to detail.
  • Experience in cross-business working to achieve challenging goals.
  • Experience planning and leading community initiatives to identify and track relevant community KPIs.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Experience working in a commercially driven environment.
  • Ability to manage experienced and high performing workstream leads.
  • Ability to negotiate and handle different points of view sensitively and professionally.
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Knowledge of CRMs (Salesforce) would be an advantage.
