Job Description

Sewell Wallis have an exciting opportunity to work for our client, a high growth property business based in Manchester to join them initially on a 6 month contract with a view to extending or making permanent during that time.

We're looking for an experienced mentor who can help support with the development and progression of a small team of part and newly qualified accountants responsible for preparing the management accounts for a property portfolio.

What will you be doing?

  1. Review and preparation of monthly management accounts and variance analysis.
  2. Review and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
  3. Production of monthly and quarterly cash reporting.
  4. Review of monthly CIS returns.
  5. Review of monthly and quarterly VAT returns.
  6. Preparation of quarterly debt compliance reporting.
  7. Production of quarterly group consolidated management accounts and reporting.
  8. Key involvement in the preparation and review of annual accounts and supporting the year-end audit.
  9. Management of Assistant Accountant.
  10. Supporting the Senior Finance Manager managing the team's deliverables.
  11. Identifying opportunities for improvement in current financial processes and leading on projects to implement process enhancements.

What skills do we need?

  1. Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
  2. 3+ years of property accounting experience.
  3. Mentoring/management experience.
  4. Strong system skills along with advanced Excel.
  5. Highly analytical with proven ability to understand numbers.
  6. Strong written and oral communication skills.
  7. Self-starter capable of finding solutions with minimal supervision.
  8. Excellent organization skills with ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
