Job Description

As the Network Manager, you are responsible for overlooking the management, security, availability, maintenance, and installation of the administrative and curriculum ICT network. This includes the software and hardware infrastructure of the school's ICT network. You will also monitor the IT technicians working on site and work alongside the Senior Leadership Team to support the development of the school's IT infrastructure and establish plans for projects. Your role is crucial in ensuring the school's ICT network is optimized for effective use by staff and students while ensuring its stability and security.

It is crucial that you have a high level of commitment to delivering client services in a way that successfully reflects the company's values. Within the role, you will encourage effective communication between the MSP and the school. This involves keeping up to date on the services and solutions the client can offer, as well as managing customer accounts.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Running the school's ICT-based applications and network infrastructure.
  • 2nd/3rd line support.
  • Ensure work is in line with school policies.
  • Day-to-day management of all IT operations ensuring that requests are dealt with quickly and effectively.
  • Take responsibility and line manage the work produced by ICT support staff.
  • Supplying technical advice, training, and support to staff to ensure they are able to make effective use of systems.
  • Observation and maintenance of all key systems including virtual & physical server environments, switches, Microsoft 365, and backups.
  • Training of internal staff.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Passionate about IT with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience working as an IT Manager/Network Manager/Senior ICT Consultant within a school setting.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively with a skill for problem-solving and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities to improve the services provided by the team.
  • Self-motivated, with great communication and interpersonal skills, as well as top-end customer service skills.
  • High-level understanding of the responsibilities and requirements of working within a school environment.
  • Skilled in performing upgrades to a school IT Network system.
  • The role is on a full-time basis, and the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

The client is offering a salary of between £35,000 - £38,000, negotiable for the right person. Benefits include a benefits & wellbeing Hub, electric/hybrid car leasing scheme, salary sacrifice pension scheme, and others.
