Location: Northampton (2-3 days in the office)

Summary of the role:

We are looking for an experienced Java Microservices Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 8 years of experience in the banking domain, particularly in credit risk strategies, with a strong technical background in Cloud Computing, CI/CD pipelines, and Microservices Architecture. This role demands expertise in Jenkins, Kubernetes, and deploying microservices on AWS. The candidate should also possess excellent communication skills and a strong analytical mindset to work in a fast-paced environment.

As part of your duties, you will be responsible for:

  • Design, develop, and deploy Java-based microservices for credit risk strategies within the banking domain.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Kubernetes, ensuring smooth and efficient deployment processes.
  • Deploy and manage microservices on AWS, ensuring scalability and high availability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Develop solutions to improve overall performance, reliability, and security of microservices.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise microservices to meet performance and scalability goals.
  • Write and optimise SQL queries for efficient data management and integration.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.

Qualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role:

  • 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in Java development, with a focus on microservices architecture in the banking domain.
  • Strong technical expertise in Cloud Computing, CI/CD pipelines, and Microservices Architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Kubernetes, and deploying microservices on AWS.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong analytical mindset.
  • Medium proficiency in SQL and database concepts.

  • Proficiency in Agile methodology for requirement gathering and SDLC processes.
  • Awareness of data warehousing, big data, and cloud ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of data control principles, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
  • Knowledge of data quality and validation techniques.
  • Experience with Bitbucket, Jenkins, and API development.
