Job Description

Job Overview:

Compass Pathways is now looking to hire a high-quality Junior Accounts Assistant. This role will support the broader Finance team and play an integral part in the day to day running of the business.

Our company comprises a core team of Senior Executives based in London and New York. The Finance team is primarily London based and provides a centralised service for both the UK and US teams. The majority of this role will involve "hands-on" processing of financial transactions including, but not limited to, accounts payable, expenses and VAT, as well as support to the team for monthly closings and other activities. The Company uses Netsuite as its ERP system. The role will require flexibility, strong attention to detail and a "can-do" attitude.

Location: Hybrid in our London, UK office.

Responsibilities:

  1. Working closely with the finance function and the wider company.
  2. Bank reconciliations - ensuring all bank transactions are accurately recorded and payments allocated in a timely fashion.
  3. Daily coding and processing of Purchase Ledger invoices.
  4. Ensuring PO system is followed and adhered to, that invoices from suppliers are matched with purchase orders.
  5. To arrange weekly payment runs, ensuring supplier accounts are settled within our terms.
  6. Process monthly staff expenses and corporate card transactions, ensuring all receipts are provided and costs conform to company policy.
  7. Responsible for supplier queries by investigating, responding and progressing issues to a successful conclusion on a timely basis.
  8. Ensuring all payable accounts are reconciled and complete aged payables reporting monthly.
  9. Audit preparation: on a quarterly basis, providing support for transactions within your remit to auditors, as required.
  10. Support process improvement activities including enhancing current financial processes.
  11. Any ad hoc requests for analysis.

Candidate Profile:

The successful candidate may be looking for their first role in industry or have some experience in a similar role, the ability to organise and prioritise their own workload, have good communication skills and a desire to be part of a team. Experience gained in an SME environment would be desirable.
