The Opportunity at a glanceFoundever is looking for a Junior Legal Counsel / Solicitor to join our in-house legal team. You will be involved in a range of activities to support and protect our business; however, your primary focus will be on reviewing commercial contracts for both existing and new client agreements. This is a hands-on role requiring both tactical execution and longer-term strategy. Crucially, you must be able to interact and negotiate effectively with internal stakeholders and clients.
Although this role is home-based, you must be able to travel nationally to attend internal and client meetings as required. We are seeking someone with 2-4 years' PQE, ideally with experience as in-house counsel in the private sector.
You will be rewarded with a competitive salary, pension, and up to a 30% annual performance-related bonus scheme.
Key Responsibilities- Draft, negotiate, and review contracts, including customer, vendor, and data processing agreements.
- Provide legal support across HR, operations, compliance, privacy, and corporate security, including internal and external investigations.
- Communicate directly with clients and vendors.
- Analyse legislation, business practices, and policies, advising on risks related to global data privacy and security.
- Collaborate with operations, compliance, data protection officers, IT, and security teams on legal implications of business practices.
- Research and assess legal issues, including contracts, labour disputes, works council matters, and territorial expansion.
- Assist in legal dispute representation and approve client communications from a legal perspective.
- Handle routine legal assignments independently.
- Uphold Foundever's policies on ethics and integrity.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years PQE in commercial contract law with data protection expertise.
- Communication: Ability to engage effectively at all levels with stakeholders and clients.
- Business Acumen: Strategic decision-making with a broad organisational perspective.
- Financial Awareness: Understanding key financial indicators and their impact.
- Adaptability: Ability to manage diverse tasks and adjust communication styles.
- Positive Attitude: Maintaining professionalism during challenging interactions.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel & Outlook.
- Critical Thinking: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of business management and industry standards.
- Background: Must pass a clear criminal background check.
We will be conducting a 3 stage assessment process for this role where you will undertake the following:
- 1st Stage - Remote introductory telephone conversation with the hiring manager.
- 2nd Stage - Paper Based exercise completed 24 hours before onsite Interview (Location to be agreed) comprising of role play and competency based questions.
- 3rd Stage - Cultural alignment conversation with UK General Manager and Chief Legal Officer.
