Kubernetes Platform Engineer - London - Hybrid 3 days onsite - Up to £750/day Outside IR35
Our client, a commodities trading firm, is seeking a Kubernetes Platform Engineer to manage and optimize a production on-prem Kubernetes infrastructure. This role will focus on maintaining and supporting the Kubernetes platform that hosts cloud-native applications for trading, operations, supply chain, and corporate functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain on-premises Kubernetes infrastructure, ensuring high availability and scalability.
- Configure and implement Kubernetes control plane components and worker nodes.
- Integrate Kubernetes clusters into existing on-prem compute, network, and storage environments.
- Design and implement Kubernetes networking models and service meshes.
- Automate provisioning and management of Kubernetes clusters using Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
Candidate Technical Skills/Role Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience running Kubernetes clusters in production on-premises.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture, networking, and storage in on-prem environments.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes operating systems (Linux-based).
- Experience with Kubernetes management tools, particularly Rancher.
- Proficiency with Kubernetes deployment tools and related technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, GitOps).
- Strong Scripting skills in Python or similar languages.
- Experience working in regulated environments.
