L&D Design Specialist - Engineering

Learning Design Specialist 12-month FTC

Based in Hounslow 2x days a week

Paying up to £50,000

As a Learning Design Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, reviewing, and maintaining high-quality, engaging learning solutions for the Engineering population. You'll ensure all training aligns with regulatory, legal, quality, and business standards, supporting business performance and competency development.

• Develop and deliver technical and non-technical learning solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Work collaboratively with internal SMEs, external partners, and learning specialists to create impactful training programs.
• Maintain accreditations and subject matter expertise to design effective technical learning solutions.
• Support the development of business learning design standards and competency matrices.
• Partner with Engineering teams to stay up to date with industry changes and business needs.
• Act as a facilitator to enhance learner engagement and ensure continuous improvement.
• Assist in the delivery of competent person training, including Engineering Safety Rules (ESR).
• Advise on learning systems, digital content, and apprenticeship opportunities to support colleague development.
• Promote a learning culture across the business by advocating best practices and knowledge-sharing.

Experience in learning design across technical and non-technical disciplines with a strong understanding of competency assessments.
Ability to set clear learning outcomes and measure training impact.
ONC qualification or 5 years of experience in an engineering discipline.
IOSH/NEBOSH qualified (or equivalent safety certification).
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
