My client is a successful charity based in Leicester City Centre with a genuine commitment to the people they serve.
Salary Range: £33,000 - £38,000
Location: Leicester City Centre (2 days on site)
Sector: Charity

Are you a detail-oriented and proactive finance professional? My client is looking for a Lead Accountant to join their dynamic team and support the Head of Finance, Operations, and HR. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact within a brilliant organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist with annual budget setting, in-year forecasting, and cashflow management.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with budget holders and senior leadership, providing them with financial insights and support.
  3. Management Accounts: Prepare and post journals, including Payroll, Accruals, Prepayments, Income, and Central Allocations. Provide analysis and commentary on variances.
  4. Reconciliations: Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies. Manage Restricted and Designated Funds accounts.
  5. Payroll & VAT: Ensure timely preparation of monthly payroll and VAT returns. Maintain accurate VAT rates and partial exemption calculations.
  6. Asset Management: Keep the Fixed Asset Register up to date.
  7. Funding & Compliance: Support funding applications and ensure compliance with funder restrictions. Assist with grant reporting.
  8. Team Development: Provide guidance and development to the Finance, Operations, and HR team.
  9. Financial Controls: Support the Head of Finance in maintaining effective financial controls and preparing annual accounts.
