Summary:

Abel & Cole technology is undergoing an exciting transformation, including strategic programs to deliver innovative technology and business solutions to support our growth plans. Central to these plans is the transition from a monolithic to composable application stack built on Microsoft Azure's Public Cloud.

Our technology is built, deployed, and managed by development, platform, and service teams in an Agile environment. Engineers are encouraged to actively participate in and strengthen collaborative relationships.

What You'll Be Doing:

As Cloud Engineering lead, you will modernize the application hosting platform, transform existing and build new software products within a composable architecture. Applying DevOps principles, you will:

• Build applications and cloud infrastructure solutions as part of a cross-functional team.
• Lead a cloud engineering chapter, providing expertise for Cloud-hosted applications and infrastructure, Software Development Lifecycle, and Dev/Sec/Ops.
• Guide and motivate a small team of engineers, attending to their performance and welfare needs.
• Ensure existing applications and infrastructure operate at expected service levels and are maintained in line with best practices.
• Collaborate with all teams to ensure systems are available, performant, and secure.
• Work closely with Product, Delivery, and business teams to ensure solutions align with business strategy and objectives.
• Contribute to the resolution of critical service outages, including communication with the business and third parties.
• Mentor engineering team members in Microsoft PaaS & IaaS technologies, infrastructure lifecycle management, DevOps, and security principles.
• Assist Technology Principals with solution design and the development of a technology roadmap.

About You:

• You can understand a business opportunity or problem and transform it into a technology solution.
• You have experience overseeing e-commerce platforms and component-driven architecture, or are willing to learn more.
• You have experience leading or managing small engineering teams, including performance management and skills development.
• You possess expertise in Microsoft Azure identity and governance concepts and technologies.
• You have strong knowledge of Azure PaaS technologies such as App Services, Function Apps, Service Bus, Azure SQL databases, and Azure Container Services.
• You have a deep understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle in an Agile environment, including DevOps principles.
• You are familiar with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or Octopus Deploy, and infrastructure as code techniques like Azure Bicep and Terraform.
• You have knowledge of security concepts including zero trust and techniques for addressing modern cybersecurity challenges.
• You are knowledgeable about CDNs, Web Application Firewalls, and other edge performance and security tools.
• You have experience developing software using Microsoft .Net and C#.

This is predominantly a remote-based role; however, you will need to be onsite once per month.
