We are looking for a Lead Product Designer with a desire to join the Product Design team at Chambers and Partners, helping us differentiate the best legal talent when it really matters and improving the experience for Chambers' customers.

Reporting into our Director of Experience Design, you will join our diverse product design team. You'll work day to day in a multidisciplinary product team, partnering with product managers, engineers, user research, data science, and product marketing to help bring to market a new product that creates more value for our customers as part of our transformation to become a leader in Data & Analytics.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identifying and addressing problems to be solved, influencing the product vision through your understanding of user needs.
  • Designing simple, elegant but impactful end-to-end experiences that improve the way customers interact with Chambers and move business metrics.
  • Partnering with PMs, engineers, data teams, other designers, and stakeholders across the company to deliver products and features from conception to launch - owning and leading the ideation, design, and validation phases.
  • Communicating conceptual ideas, detailed designs, and rationales verbally and visually to a variety of audiences (team members, stakeholders, execs, and company-wide).
  • Owning the success or failure of your design work, autonomously validating your design solutions qualitatively and quantitatively, measuring success and initiating improvements.
  • Constantly seeking and respectfully providing design feedback.
  • Exploring how to best represent insights and visualize data in a way that helps our audience understand the information, while positioning our offering as an enabler of Data & Analytics.
  • Contributing to the growth of the product design function at Chambers by sharing knowledge, being a team player, and a role model.
  • Actively helping to shape and evolve Chambers design system & overall design operations.

Skills & Experience:

  • Capabilities across the product design spectrum - from Service Design to UX strategy, Information Architecture, UI design, Content Design, and User Research.
  • Demonstrable experience working cross-functionally across the entire product development cycle, from ideation to implementation and iteration.
  • Ability to identify problems and opportunities, using quantitative and qualitative insights as well as interviews to inform a problem space and evaluate user experience.
  • Experience facilitating the creation of a shared vision and approach for new products and features, creating alignment and driving projects to completion.
  • Comfortable communicating internally to gather feedback and onboard others in your design approach.
  • Contributed to the creation, maintenance, and evolution of a design system.

About You:

  • Self-aware and able to collaborate cross-functionally, building trust and long-lasting relationships.
  • Motivated by goals and outcomes, staying focused on the big picture while giving care to details when necessary.
  • Iterate quickly, utilizing data and user research to ensure you're on the right path towards your goal.
  • Excellent communicator of design work and rationales, empathizing with your audience and adapting your communication style.
  • A facilitator, using different techniques to gather various points of view and create alignment.
  • Always looking to improve yourself and uplift others around you.
  • Championing design thinking within your product team and the broader organization.
  • Working humbly and kindly, learning from mistakes.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in a data-led business and ability to create impactful data visualizations.
  • Familiarity with the legal industry.
  • Experience working closely with product marketing, marketing, and brand teams.
