What you will ownIn this role, you will be the first QA in the Desktop team. You will be responsible for improving the quality, testing, bug tracking, and observability of the Desktop application. This means setting up test environments, finding bugs and troubleshooting incidents, and participating in the release cycle.
Part of your day-to-dayDefining the test strategy, creating plans, authoring new test cases and running tests to support ongoing releases and provide full test coverage.
Designing, developing and executing automated scripts to streamline the testing process.
Gathering diagnostics for defect reporting and triaging issues.
Manual testing (for new version releases initially). We still conduct basic manual testing prior to releasing new versions.
Assist with troubleshooting and reproduction of client issues in specific scenarios.
Communicate with the customer-facing team for triage.
Report an issue found during feature processing before handing it over to the engineers.
Mentoring and guiding other engineers on automation best practices, coding standards and test methodologies to foster a culture of quality.
Desktop Application testing experience (WPF applications, Windows Environment familiarity, API testing).
Ability to set up test environments similar to our Enterprise clients.
A track record of designing and implementing tests for various use cases, with a deep understanding of what and why to automate specific tests.
Good core programming skills, proficiency in the Microsoft .NET stack, and familiarity with WinAppDriver / FlaUI / UIAutomation (UIA) libraries.
Commitment to upholding high engineering standards, prioritizing code quality, testability, maintainability and reliability.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Drive to continually develop your skills, improve team processes and elevate product quality.
Fluency in English, with effective communication skills - articulating complex technical ideas and trade-offs clearly.
Working knowledge of Appium or other tools utilizing UIA - Microsoft's Accessibility framework for Windows.
Familiarity with enterprise environments and applications like SAP and Oracle.
Proficiency in creating and/or automating a Continuous Testing pipeline as part of CI/CD.
Experience working within a high-impact, high-ambiguity startup environment - delivering value quickly and iteratively.
This is a fully remote position. You can be based anywhere in the UK, Europe, or the Americas within a UTC-7 to UTC+3 timezone.
