Legal Counsel
Hybrid - Swindon or London
Up to £90,000 + Bonus

We are now hiring a Legal Counsel to Edenred PayTech, to specifically play a critical role in ensuring our company operates within legal and regulatory frameworks while maintaining a strong focus on ethical standards and corporate governance best practices. This position reports to the Head of Legal. Not in the perimeter: specific regulatory compliance and risk management related to financial licenses authorised by FCA.

What you will be doing:

  1. Contract drafting and negotiation
  2. Legal advice and guidance to the identified stakeholders
  3. Contract management, in line with Edenred Group's requirements and local regulation
  4. Support the Head of Legal
  5. Promoting ethical behaviour and integrity in line with Edenred Group's directives
  6. Your work will focus on commercial and FinTech
  7. Working knowledge of the UK Electronic Money Regulations, Payment Services Regulations, Payment services Directive and its EU implementation, EBA guidelines and outsourcing regulations
  8. Support compliance with all applicable corporate laws, regulations, and industry standards
  9. Oversee the negotiation, drafting, and review of a wide range of contracts, including vendor agreements, contracts with business lines and internal customers, and strategic partnerships
  10. Ensure compliance with our policies and processes and act as ambassador to that effect
  11. Stay updated on relevant legal and regulatory developments
  12. Support on audit and risk
  13. Promote a culture of ethical behaviour and integrity throughout the organisation
  14. Support in implementing policies and training programs to ensure compliance with ethical standards
  15. Support communication and deployment in front of regulatory changes, and emerging risks and opportunities

What we want from you:

  1. Law degree and license to practice in the UK or France/ Belgium or both
  2. Extensive experience in practicing law, preferably with a focus on corporate law and financial services
  3. Strong understanding of contract law and negotiation
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  5. Sound judgment and ethical decision-making skills
  6. Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  7. Working knowledge of PSD2, e-money and payments regulations
  8. French language considered as a plus
  9. Structured & organized mindset with practical judgement
  10. Time & priority management skill
  11. Excellent communication skills, listening & understanding, flexibility & teamwork
  12. At ease with agile organisations
