Locum Orthopaedic Consultant in Upper Limb London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust

Applications are invited for a Full Time Locum Consultant in Orthopaedics, specialising in Upper Limb Surgery, based at Northwick Park Hospital. The successful applicant will be required to work across the Central Middlesex and Ealing Hospitals.

We are looking for individuals that share our passion for excellence and want to join our team. It is essential that the successful applicant has experience in upper limb surgery. The role will include elective and trauma operating, fracture clinics, and elective clinics. It is hoped that the applicant can be appointed as soon as practicable.

The Consultants are supported by Registrars, Trust Grade doctors, and junior doctors at FY1/FY2/CT1 level.

Main Duties of the Job

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Balanced activities between trauma and elective commitments based on service demands, to be further reviewed prior to start date.
2. Operation lists for both Elective and Trauma.
3. Regular ward rounds.
4. Outpatient clinics for both Elective and Trauma.
5. Presenting monthly mortality and morbidity statistics.
6. Participating in departmental teaching meetings.
7. Supervision and training of middle-grade doctors.
8. Participation in management duties within the department and the Trust.

Job Responsibilities

This is a Consultant post to support the current Orthopaedic service in general trauma and elective orthopaedics with a specialty interest in hip and knee surgery. The post holder will be expected to work across the Trust on both the Northwick Park, Central Middlesex, and Ealing Hospital sites.
