As Logistics Manager, you will support the team and resources covering all facets of Logistics management for the UK/EU distribution region including, but not limited to: management of 3PL contracts, inbound freight/logistics, warehousing and logistics capacity planning. Ultimately this role ensures the provision of best in class supply chain and customer service solutions for FitFlop via its multi-channel routes to market: digital (B2C) and wholesale (B2B) channels.
The FitFlop team must continually develop and deliver new logistical solutions to both enhance our customers experience and ensure retention. You'll therefore provide management support for the regional Logistics department, whilst also working on a cross functional basis with colleagues in sales, DC operations, merchandising, IT and finance and more.
You'll have direct, relevant experience managing e-commerce supply chain solutions for brands or pure-play digital businesses, along with extensive wholesale supply experience; ideally in a footwear or related, fashion environment. A detailed understanding of ERP/supply chain systems, structure, transactions and process would be a real advantage (as would experience operating any customs/duty processes).
The Responsibilities:
- Help deliver a Logistics strategy that supports the company's overall strategic business plan, focusing on its 'On time delivery' and customer centric objectives.
- Control product in transit from ex-factory, receipt in warehouse, finished goods inventory, fulfilment and delivery to customer(s).
- Monitor inventory and establish DC capacity controls to ensure FitFlop operates at the highest level of utilization based on key performance metrics with minimized supply chain risk and cost.
- Assist Global Logistics Director/head of Distribution in the development and formulation of long and short-range programs and objectives related to UK and European activities, resources and infrastructure.
- To ensure on time and cost effective delivery to customers, review carrier and delivery (and return) options to ensure optimal service/value is achieved.
- Monitor and influence all Opex related metrics at UKDC.
- Identify logistical and process bottlenecks and propose solutions for operational or process improvement, creating a more effective Logistics solution; whether freight or warehouse related.
- Support the Head of Distribution with both customer and supplier issues and feedback, including those that may affect the on-time and cost-effective supply of product. Occasionally supporting the US Logistics team.
- Work with the sales channel teams to develop innovative supply chain solutions that provide market differentiation and meets the Sales & Operations Plan.
- Provide expertise to cross-functional leaders (Customer Service teams, sales, marketing, merchandising, planning, finance, etc.) to influence business strategies and decision-making across the organization.
- Provide considered leadership and coaching to logistics and operational team members.
- Review outbound carriers including freight, parcel and overseas shipping services to minimize shipping lead times to customers and consumers.
- Ensure all regulatory and compliance measures are met within global guidelines.
- EU customs knowledge required.
- Drive continuous improvement to achieve the required service levels.
The Person:
- Extensive direct Supply Chain/Logistics experience, ideally in a footwear or related, branded general merchandise environment.
- Knowledge and experience working to different business models - you'll have experience across B2B and digital Direct to Consumer (D2C) operations and be able to deliver solutions that meet the specific requirements of each.
- Proven leadership skills in managing teams, with a focus on cross functional collaboration and problem solving.
- Experience with operating ERP systems is a plus.
- Ability to manage several suppliers/3PLs - you must be a strategic thinker with confidence and speed in execution.
- Degree in Supply Chain or Operational Planning would be an advantage.
- High level of organizational ability and understanding of priority management.
- Competent in MS Office suite, you'll have advanced excel skills and be confident handling data.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Excellent analytical and influencing skills are required.
