About the Role

Location: Aztec West, Bristol (hybrid working)

Are you ready to power the change that will help Britain reach Net Zero? At EDF, we're on the frontline of delivering the next generation of nuclear power, and we're looking for someone exceptional to take the reins as our Macro-Activity Lead for Commissioning Sequence.

The Opportunity

EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is a subsidiary of Edvance, which is a joint venture between EDF and Framatome, established in 2018 in charge of the design and the realisation of nuclear islands for new projects in France and worldwide.

In particular, EDF EPR Engineering UK is responsible for the design and construction of the nuclear island for Hinkley Point C (HPC) project and preparing the design replication and engineering activities for the Sizewell C (SZC) Project.

At HPC we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.

For the SZC Project, work on the replication strategy and some early design studies are already underway and being delivered and managed from both France and UK.

What you'll be doing

You'll be part of an international team working on one of the UK's most exciting infrastructure projects - Hinkley Point C, the first new nuclear power station in a generation. You'll also play a key role in laying the groundwork for Sizewell C, ensuring design continuity and engineering excellence.

As the Macro-Activity Lead, you'll lead the charge on managing the production and delivery of commissioning documentation, aligning closely with the project schedule and targets defined by discipline leads and the client. You'll monitor KPIs such as adherence to delivery deadlines, documentation quality, and budget alignment - with regular reporting and performance reviews to keep everything on track.

You'll be the go-to person for cost management across the Commissioning team. That includes day-to-day cost tracking, workforce planning, task order oversight, and forecasting. When new scope requests come in from the client, you'll assess the financial implications and ensure they're accurately captured.

On the contract side, you'll play a vital role in preparing official communications with the client - especially when there are risks or issues that need to be flagged. Working with the contract team and sequence lead, you'll ensure the right messages are delivered with clarity and impact.

You'll also support the resolution of technical queries, from open points to design changes, helping coordinate the use of relevant tools and systems to make sure issues are resolved efficiently.

Who you are

You'll bring a degree in engineering or equivalent experience in a related scientific discipline. You'll have strong project management skills, and knowledge of large, multidisciplinary project environments would be extremely beneficial, as would any experience within nuclear.

As part of our EPR Engineering programme, you'll work at the heart of a collaborative, cross-cultural team that's passionate about innovation, sustainability, and engineering excellence. If you're strategic, driven, and ready to take your career to new heights, we want to hear from you.

Apply today and join us in helping Britain achieve Net Zero.

Closing date for applications: Thursday 1st May.
