Job role: Maintenance and Grounds Technician
Location: Trent Acres, Kings Bromley, DE13 7HR
Hours: 40 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm
Salary: £26,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent, 52 Weeks

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for an Maintenance and Grounds Technician to join our close-knit team at Trent Acres School located in Kings Bromley.
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance and Grounds Technician to join our team to maintain buildings, grounds, equipment and plants to the high standards set by the company and external regulators. Amongst some of the duties, the post holder will be required to keep school grounds well maintained by carrying out grass and hedge cutting, de-weeding and maintaining communal pathways, shrubs, grounds and car parks.
Weekly site walks to record and report any Health and Safety issues, maintain repairs and general improvements to site as well as carry out and record weekly and monthly checks on heating, fire checks and water.
Attention to detail and good organisational skills is essential to be able to keep relevant records accurate and update and contribute to the writing of risk assessments and procedures for maintenance tasks in accordance with company policies and provide a weekly acount of all work completed.
Other Key Responsibilities:
- To travel to the other areas of the site or to suppliers to carry out any role responsibilities
- Inspect outside fabric of building, report/repair defects as appropriate
- To keep paths, drives and doorways from snow, ice leaves and debris
- Inspect all fences, gates, walls, steps, lights, etc. Report/repair defects as appropriate
- To liaise with external contractors on work required beyond the scope of general maintenance and to report and advise the Facilities Manager and Registered Manager, as required
- To ensure that all tools are available, in good repair, and accounted for at all times
- To have an awareness and empathy with the Service Users for whom the service is provided and to carry out duties being mindful of their needs

Options Trent Acres is an outstanding independent specialist school; providing 141 places for pupils age 5-19.
The school operates across two sites in Staffordshire providing academic and vocational opportunities in another both a rural, 12-acre site and a newly built college setting.
