InterGlobe UK is looking for a Maintenance Director to support maintenance, refurbishments, and green initiatives across our European portfolio of hotels. In this full-time position, you will report to the Chief Operating Officer and the Head of Projects, Design & Construction - Europe.
The successful candidate will work with our property teams within Europe, with a requirement for frequent travel. Successful candidates will be expected to operate with a degree of autonomy and effectively coordinate and support hotel maintenance and project management activities while collaborating with wider property, project, design, and operational teams internally and externally.
Main Responsibilities
- Support hotel maintenance leaders to ensure efficient and cost-effective planned preventative and reactive maintenance programmes are delivered.
- Work with hotel management and maintenance teams to develop and deliver annual maintenance budgets.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures, safety protocols, and emergency response procedures.
- Implement energy-efficient initiatives and sustainable practices to reduce operating costs and minimize the environmental footprint of the hotels while also championing green initiatives such as Green Key and supporting local teams to deliver green energy objectives.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality and safety.
- Support the creation of hotel refurbishment project briefs and coordinate project teams where necessary.
- Attend project meetings as needed and provide clear and concise meeting notes to internal stakeholders.
- Support and manage stakeholder expectations, both internally and externally.
- Consolidate and streamline internal project reporting from project and design stakeholders.
- Provide project updates to stakeholders as per demand and requirement.
- Support internal teams in creating and managing contracts with suppliers and vendors, ensuring timely deliveries.
- Perform regular assessments of project execution to identify areas for improvement.
- Be aware of industry best practices, techniques, and standards.
- Create and maintain detailed project documentation, consolidating project and cost reporting from wider project teams.
- Undertake risk management to minimize potential risks.
- Ensure project delivery is on time, as per scope, and within the allocated budget.
- Manage interdepartmental coordination to ensure smooth project execution.
Required Qualifications / Preferred Skills
- Engineering, construction, or project management degree or time-served equivalent with a strong focus on design.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in technical services and maintenance in the hospitality industry.
- Excellent project management abilities.
- Must have worked alongside hotel refurbishment projects and new openings.
- Excellent technical knowledge.
- Strong communication skills, capable of mitigating conflicts and influencing changes.
- Proficient at managing time and resources.
- Ability to draw up detailed project plans and schedules.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Fully proficient working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Commercial and financial acumen.
- Robust problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex problems with ease.
- Fluent communication in English. Other European languages are a plus.
- Dynamic mindset to drive changes and improvements and not scared to take on new challenges and projects.
