Salary: £18.54 per hour
Hours: 06:00 - 15:30, 45 hours per week (overtime available)

Are you a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Engineer looking to take the next step in your career? We're seeking a proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our team in the Birmingham area. This role is essential to ensure the plant and equipment operate efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Monitor and schedule maintenance of all plant and equipment in line with manufacturer recommendations.
2. Liaise with the Operations Manager regarding the condition of mechanical/electrical equipment and production issues.
3. Serve as the first line of contact for on-site repairs and maintenance, ensuring quality and safety standards.
4. Conduct routine maintenance on equipment not serviced by manufacturers.
5. Manage relationships with external service providers, contractors, and industrial cleaning teams.
6. Oversee contract labor engaged in maintenance activities on site.
7. Assist with the planning, installation, and commissioning of new equipment.
8. Provide recommendations to enhance plant efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
9. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and report any incidents, accidents, or hazards.
10. Support the planning and development of site infrastructure.
11. Update drawing office records and maintain cleanliness in the maintenance workshop.
12. Participate in training courses and meetings as required.
13. Carry out related tasks at other Timberpak locations as needed.

Requirements:

1. ONC/NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
2. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (advantageous).
3. Fork Lift Truck Licence.
4. Strong MIG welding and fabrication skills.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Previous supervisory experience, particularly with contractors.
7. IOSH Working Safely or equivalent.
8. Strong attention to detail and effective planning and organizing skills.
