Salary: Offering a salary of up to £57,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a career-minded individual to join us at Thames Water as a Maintenance Support Manager (Mechanical and Electrical).

This is a critical role within a Water Production area, responsible for the risk profile of the region and working closely with the Area Operations Manager.

You will manage a team of technical specialists, supporting the front-line operations managers, and oversee maintenance technicians for the area.

This senior role involves managing a large maintenance budget within a team of 6 managers and a technician team. Operational management experience is essential for success.

The base site is Coppermills WTW; however, occasional support to the wider area may be required.

Working hours: 36 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 07:30 am - 15:30 pm.

What you'll be doing as the Maintenance Support Manager:

  • People Management: Responsible for all basic principles of people management, ensuring monthly team meetings and 1-2-1s are in place, and adhering to the company Performance Development Review framework.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Key aspect of the role is coaching on the correct operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment across our sites.
  • Process Management: Work closely with process and technical teams to ensure all processes on our sites are working optimally.
  • Health and Safety: Leadership role in health and safety, ensuring your team adheres to Thames Water's Health and Safety policy.

What you should bring to the role:

  • Demonstrable Mechanical and Electrical maintenance management experience.
  • Degree level or equivalent, preferably in Engineering/Science.
  • Previous experience in a process-related industry is essential; experience in the water industry is desirable.
  • Experience in managing operational staff and understanding employee engagement.
  • Strong listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and understand team dynamics.
  • Strong focus on health and safety.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise workload.
  • Strategic thinking beyond day-to-day operations.
