Job Description

Manufacturing Project Engineer

18 month contract

Skinningrove - Up to 5% travel within the UK may include other facilities when required

£38.50 via an umbrella company basis or £28.40ph PAYE equivalent to £55k

We're looking for a Manufacturing Project Engineer with a background in Lean Manufacturing and Automation solutions to assist a Global Off Highway Manufacturer in Skinningrove.

About the opportunity:

  1. Proactively identify business opportunities for capital investment.
  2. Full scope project management; development, budgets, resources, and management of NPI or improvement projects.
  3. Facilitate the development of manufacturing process solutions using a range of tools e.g. process flows, PFMEA's, control plans.
  4. Plan equipment specifications and installation requirements.
  5. Work with facility teams to establish the correct suppliers and manage timelines.
  6. Work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders to drive DFM and best manufacturing practices.

Experience Required:

  1. Ideally 6 Sigma project leadership experience.
  2. Good understanding of machining, product handling, heat treatment and supporting systems, inspection, and product finishing processes.
  3. Experience of leading quality concern resolution with tools such as 8D, 5 why, fishbone diagrams, and other appropriate quality tools.
  4. Existing product manufacturing methods, technologies, and processes.
  5. Knowledge of effective project management strategies.
  6. Lean manufacturing.
  7. Working knowledge of ABB Robotics - advantageous.
