The Media Relations Executive supporting M&G's Life business will assist the Media team in managing the firm's reputation with media, third parties, and external stakeholders. This team is part of the External Relations within Corporate Affairs and Brand.

The role reports to the Media Relations Manager, responsible for media engagement within our Life business. The role involves developing, planning, and managing media communications, strengthening journalist relationships, and proactively raising the profile of the business and its spokespeople.

This position aims to protect and promote M&G's reputation, identify profile-raising opportunities, and contribute to strategic communications and thought leadership campaigns. Managing reputational risks and addressing media inquiries swiftly and accurately are key responsibilities. The role also involves acting as an external spokesperson and participating in media events.

This role is based in London, primarily working with the Life business, with opportunities to act as a company representative at external events. The candidate will support the growth of the business by increasing visibility in the media.

Key accountabilities include developing communication strategies, devising PR programs, liaising with departments, creating media content, organizing interviews and events, managing media inquiries, and evaluating media impact.

Essential skills and experience encompass media liaison, drafting press materials, strong communication skills, financial and organizational information comprehension, journalistic skills, stakeholder engagement, organization, attention to detail, initiative, teamwork, budget management, media measurement, adaptability, and relationship-building.
