Job Description
Main Purpose:

We are seeking a skilled Media Relations Manager, to be based in Geneva, to help drive our media relations and communications strategy. The successful candidate will work with the Global Head of Media Relations to develop strong relationships with reporters and publications and ensure the effective delivery of key messages across different platforms and channels. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape brand identity and enhance perceptions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • 5 years of experience in media relations, either in-house at a multi-national organization or at a consultancy working with multi-national organisations, with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Strong writing, editing and proof-reading skills.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, media / digital channels monitoring tools and analytics.
  • Financial media relations experience, ability to understand company financial statements.
  • Knowledge of the commodities or natural resources sector is a plus but not mandatory.

  • Proactive and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong aptitude to collaborate and work as a team with a diverse range of stakeholders, from senior executives to commercial teams and external agencies.
  • English language mother tongue. Proficiency in one or more additional languages would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement media, social media and communication strategies that align with the company's goals and brand positioning.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and media outlets to ensure accurate coverage.
  • Draft, edit, and distribute press releases, media kits, and other communication materials.
  • Work with commercial teams to determine appropriate media and external communications approach and execution.
  • Help organise and manage media engagements, including press events, interviews, and industry summits.
  • Monitor media coverage and track performance metrics, preparing actionable insights and reports for senior management.
  • Assist in managing crisis communication and respond effectively to media inquiries under tight deadlines.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing and commercial groups, to ensure consistency across all communications.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging media platforms, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities for engagement.
