Medical Workforce Manager

Oxford Health is seeking an experienced Medical Workforce Manager to join our team. Working closely with the Head of Medical Workforce and Education and the Medical Education Lead, you'll support the delivery of a comprehensive service to doctors and dentists across the organisation.
You'll provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring a high-quality and responsive service across all medical workforce matters, including resident doctor and consultant contracts, contract reform, medical recruitment, and appraisal and revalidation. You'll lead the Medical Workforce team (up to 7 direct reports) using your expertise to navigate complex terms and conditions while supporting the recruitment and retention of top medical talent.
We're looking for candidates with experience in medical workforce or HR management, a strong understanding of recruitment processes, and the ability to interpret and implement complex contractual terms. Excellent working knowledge of HR systems and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision are essential.

Main duties of the job- Responsibility for the medical workforce; new and existing medical staff, ensuring that their period of employment runs smoothly.
- To provide advice to medical managers on all medical workforce issues, procedural matters, ensuring adherence to national terms and conditions of service (T&C's), including pay, local Trust policies, referring issues to the Senior HR Business Partners where appropriate.
- Work on projects across key areas of the medical workforce transformation plan, supporting the team with rota design, analysis and ensuring adequate cover is in place at all times.
- Lead on the management and resolution of complex payroll queries for medical staff.
- Responsibility for ensuring that all medical staff maintain their registration with the General Medical Council and that the Trust is aware of any investigations, warnings, conditions or restrictions to practice.
- To provide expert advice as necessary regarding contractual terms of service on medical contracts to include resident doctors, career grade doctors, GPs, consultants and dentists.
- Working in partnership with the BMA where appropriate. Supporting collective bargaining processes to drive change and the improvement of working conditions for doctors and dentists.
- Responsible for issuing of medical staff contracts of employment and maintaining up to date versions made available by NHS Employers.

Person Specification Qualifications- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- CIPD associate membership
- Experience of working in a medical workforce or HR senior role
- Demonstrable knowledge of medical and dental terms and conditions
- Ability to travel between sites and to attend regional meetings, working from other trust sites where required.
- Driving licence and access to a car
