(Medior) Messaging Engineer

Viterra is seeking a Medior Messaging Engineer who will be part of the EMEA Messaging and Collaboration Team.

The Messaging Engineer is responsible for keeping the Messaging environment up-to-date and performing to the satisfaction of our end-users. The main environments to manage are E-mail Security systems (ProofPoint) and Exchange Server/Exchange online. The Messaging Engineer will liaison with the security group on vulnerabilities and other security risks in the environment. The Messaging Engineer will prepare and implement changes in the IT landscape. The Messaging Engineer will resolve 2nd line user issues and requests. We are a close team that relies not only on knowledge, but also on good teamwork and helping each other out. We have both global and regional responsibilities. Within the team you will take up the role of messaging engineer and help maintain and manage both our on-prem and online Exchange environments. We are wrapping up a migration to the cloud, and are currently consolidating our various on-prem environments so we have plenty of challenges. You will also help on managing the global secure email gateway. Maintenance and documentation are important parts of the job.

We have currently set our scope to include candidates who already live and work in the Netherlands (this with regard to our company policy to work at the office HQ Rotterdam 3 days a week)

Your role in our network

• Responsible for maintaining the Email environment (Exchange and Email Security)
• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Messaging engineer (on-prem/Cloud)
• Maintaining Exchange environments
• Experience in supporting Email clients (outlook)
• Experience in migration from on-prem to cloud is an advantage

Dimensions

• Directly responsible for: managing Exchange, Secure email Gateways by patching, monitoring, securing, and optimizing Exchange & Proofpoint.
• No Financial responsibility
• Impact and influence: indirect impact on Viterra Business through successfully maintaining the Messaging environments.
• Key relationship / customers: IT Security, Business Users, Windows Engineers, Infrastructure Architect.

Who are we looking for?

• Should have a solid foundation in Microsoft Exchange, M365, and email security including Exchange Online, Teams, and hybrid environments.
• Knowledge and understanding of DNS & Email routing,
• Monitoring and troubleshooting, PowerShell scripting,
• Exchange Hybrid Configuration, and email security best practices (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
• 3-5 years of experience in email, messaging, and collaboration platforms.
• Experience with WorkSpace 1 is an advantage.

Personal competences

• Strong problem-solving & analytical skills
• Good documentation & reporting skills (like documenting configurations, troubleshooting steps, and changes for audits.)
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Good communication skills (interacting with users, admins, and management on Engineering level)
• Able to work independent on 2nd line incidents, Service Requests, changes and improvements within the Messaging environments.
• Works according to standard methodologies and tools and participates in projects within set frameworks.
