Role Overview:
The Bus Body Technician role is crucial to maintaining the structural and operational integrity of our vehicles. The successful candidate will bring experience in PSV coach building or possess expertise in painting, welding, and body repair, complemented by the ability to perform minor electrical repairs. This role requires a meticulous approach to both bodywork and electrical tasks, ensuring that all vehicles are roadworthy and meet our high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Body Repairs: Conduct high-quality repairs on bus and coach bodywork, including welding, painting, and addressing accidental damage. This encompasses work on collision, fire damage, and vandalism repairs.
Electrical Repairs: Perform minor electrical repairs, ensuring that all systems are functional and safe. This includes troubleshooting and fixing wiring, lighting, and other minor electrical issues.
Quality Assurance: Adhere to the rigorous standards set by our client, ensuring that all repairs-both bodywork and electrical-are completed to the highest level of safety and roadworthiness.
Damage Assessment: Accurately assess the extent of both physical and electrical damage to vehicles, determining the necessary repair methods and materials.
Fabrication Work: Engage in fabrication tasks that support the structural integrity of the vehicles, ensuring long-term durability and safety.
Problem Solving: Utilise your initiative to identify and solve problems efficiently, whether they relate to bodywork, electrical systems, or a combination of both.
Requirements:
Experience: Significant experience in PSV coach building, and proficiency in painting, welding, and body repair within a commercial vehicle environment, with additional experience in minor electrical repairs.
Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in vehicle body repair, electrical systems, or a related field, with a focus on heavy goods vehicles (HGV) or public service vehicles (PSV).
Technical Skills: Strong technical skills in welding, painting, and electrical repairs, with a focus on high-quality workmanship and attention to detail.
Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work well within a team, contributing to a positive and productive work environment while also being capable of independent work.
Problem Solving: Proven track record of using initiative to diagnose and solve complex issues efficiently.
Motivation: A self-motivated individual with a commitment to maintaining and exceeding high standards in vehicle repair, both structurally and electrically.

- A competitive salary ranging from £44,000 - £49,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
