Scotland - hybrid working will apply for the foreseeable future. This is a national role, travel throughout Scotland may be required

The Healthcare Staffing Programme is looking for a National Clinical Lead for MHLD Community to join the team with a focus on supporting the development of a staffing level tool for this service. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of the Health & Care (Staffing) (Scotland) Act 2019.

The Healthcare Staffing Programme (HSP) team are working with Health Boards across Scotland to support improvement in workload and workforce planning in line with new Health and Care Staffing legislation. The post holder will work with a range of stakeholders to scope current workforce planning tools and methodologies utilised to inform current MHLD Community workforce planning. In addition, the post holder will provide expert senior leadership for the development, testing and implementation of a MHLD Community staffing level tool for MHLD Community services across Scotland, taking into account the need for multi-professional approaches and digital solutions to reduce the data capture burden. The role will provide key clinical leadership and expertise to the development of the MHLS Community tool development.

The key outcome of this work is to enable workforce decisions that will ensure that at all times, suitably qualified and competent individuals from a range of professional disciplines are working in such numbers as are appropriate for the health, wellbeing and safety of patients or service users, and the provision of high-quality health care for individuals across Scotland.

We are looking for a National Clinical Lead with strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills as well as expert working knowledge in MHLD Community workload and workforce planning. The post holder must have an ability to devise, implement and monitor a range of engagement strategies to ensure multi-professionals and various Professional Bodies across Scotland are actively engaged to support the work of the MHLD Community tool development.
