Job Specification: NetApp NCDA Storage Systems Deployment Engineer
Contract Length: 12 months
Contract Type: Inside IR35
Travel Requirements: Frequent travel across the UK
Certification: NCDA (NetApp Certified Data Administrator) required

Key Responsibilities:

1. Service Preparation:
• Remotely prepare sites and review installation readiness.
• Validate customer environments to ensure suitability for the installation.
• Ensure management network details are provided and configured.
• Validate network types used with ONTAP clusters.
• Conduct hardware inventory checks.
• Finalize and sign off the preparation checklist before deployment.
2. On-Site Deployment:
• Install equipment at the customer site.
• Execute physical installation and cabling of the ONTAP storage system into designated racks.
• Implement or expand an ONTAP cluster.
• Perform cabling for the ONTAP storage system.
• Power on the system and ensure components are active and operational.
• Configure management IPs.
3. Installation Validation:
• Conduct quality assurance checks to validate the installation.
• Perform a comprehensive review of the installation process.
• Notify the client upon successful completion of the ONTAP system installation.
• Prepare final documentation for sign-off.
• Conduct a secure handover with the customer, ensuring all work performed on-site is clearly communicated.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience with ONTAP storage systems.
• Strong expertise in system installation, configuration, and validation.
• Excellent understanding of network integration with storage systems.
• Hands-on experience with hardware inventory checks and quality assurance processes.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with clients and ensure successful handovers.
