About the Role

Sizewell C. The power of good for Britain.

Location: North of England / Wales (hybrid working arrangements) from a Manchester office base and an office in Wales (TBC)

Employment type: Permanent full-time

Employment basis: The role is expected to be a full- time position however we are open to discussing a more flexible or part- time approach where possible.

Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 dependent on experience, plus bonus and other benefits.

The Opportunity

Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK's climate change agenda and energy policy. Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a North & Wales Engagement Partner.

Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.


The Role

We are looking for a North & Wales Engagement Partner to join our Social Value Team in the ESG function of SZC. You will be responsible for engaging with key stakeholders, communities, partners and potential suppliers across the North & Wales regions to support delivery of SZC commitments to the North and Wales. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a transformative energy project and play a vital role in shaping the future of sustainable energy.

The Skills

  • Proven experience in community engagement, public relations, or stakeholder management, preferably within infrastructure, energy, or large-scale projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
  • Comfortable in a range of public facing environments, working to build trust and credibility with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Able to work independently with strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
  • Good understanding of local, regional and national political and governance structures and policies, local industry and educational bodies and other local, regional and national delivery partnerships important to the delivery of SZC commitments to the North and Wales.
  • Good understanding of the social value and environmental sustainability drivers in infrastructure projects and ways of supporting supply chains to deliver positive social value and environmental sustainability outcomes.
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of the Nuclear sector and the nuclear supply chain (desirable).
