We are currently recruiting on behalf of an exciting and fast-growing InsurTech client based in the UK and Europe. Our client is seeking an Operations Manager to join their dynamic Operations Team, reporting directly to the Operations Lead for UK and Europe. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of an innovative, client-focused company within the rapidly evolving world of insurance technology.
Role Overview:
As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing a variety of operational processes across data onboarding, premium, and cash management for specialty underwriters across the UK and Europe. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Sales & Distribution, Technology, Finance, and Outsourced Operations. You will have the chance to work closely with clients, understand their unique data needs, and solve complex operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Onboarding:
- Oversee operational due diligence and manage the onboarding process for new members and business expansions.
- Manage the coordination of bank accounts, systems, and regulatory reports during onboarding.
- Handle the reconciliation of Written & Paid Bordereaux, ensuring seamless transitions to the Outsourced Operations team.
- Assist with invoicing procedures and ensure onboarding documents are complete and accurate for all relevant teams.
- Operations Management:
- Lead operational procedures and ensure adherence to controls and standards.
- Manage the resolution of bordereaux and data queries and establish continuous improvement processes.
- Provide comprehensive Operations Health reports for monthly member meetings.
- Ensure debt targets are met, with a focus on cash collection and resolution of difficult cases.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop reporting, controls, and internal systems.
- Assist with the implementation of new procedures and maintain compliance with operational regulations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience operating in the London market across multiple lines of business, ideally with strong property and liability lines, and a strong background in managing MGA operations (specialty market experience preferred).
- Solid understanding of the Bordereaux (BDX) lifecycle, including exception management, mapping, and cash allocation processes.
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs)
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly when dealing with highly technical issues.
- Fluency in additional European languages (French, German, Spanish, or Italian) is a plus, though not mandatory.
