We'd all like amazing work to do, and real work/life balance. That's waiting for you right here. Supply Chain and Logistics are the engine room for getting thousands of products from farms and factories, through the business and to our millions of customers every day. We plan around events from barbecue weekends to Sunday roasts, and who wants oven-ready cauliflower cheese to those who prefer to make it from scratch. Insight and data are everything. But so is judgement - if there's an issue or ambiguity anywhere, we're the first to spot it. There's a big transformation going on. That calls for people who champion change, bring others with them, collaborate and communicate. Because those people can go a very long way.

Why join us
Joining Sainsbury's as an Operations Manager means being part of a dynamic and innovative team dedicated to driving change and transformation within Logistics.

You will have the opportunity to lead strategic initiatives, drive operational efficiency, and implement process improvements while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. With a focus on risk management, governance, and stakeholder engagement, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our logistics operations and ensuring the highest levels of performance and quality.

Our shared values of ownership, continuous improvement, and empathy create a supportive environment where you can thrive professionally and make a real impact on our business goals.

What you'll do
You will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of change and transformation programmes across Logistics. Your accountability will involve collaborating with various teams to develop business plans and continuous improvement strategies, as well as leading initiatives to enhance the efficiency of logistics operations through process improvement.

You will work closely with Transformation to identify programme goals, provide operational input into food programmes, and manage programme deliverables, resources, and stakeholders effectively.

Additionally, you will drive change management initiatives, stay abreast of industry trends in logistics operations, provide training and support to Logistics teams, and actively engage in governance, accountability, and risk management activities to drive operational excellence.

Who you are
You are a seasoned professional with expertise in driving strategic change and transformation programmes within complex organisations.

Your strong communication skills, effective stakeholder management, and ability to implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives are instrumental in ensuring the successful delivery of operational objectives.

With a solid understanding of project and risk management and a commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement, you lead by example, inspiring teams to embrace change, drive efficiency gains, and deliver exceptional results in the dynamic field of Logistics.

We are committed to being a truly inclusive retailer so you'll be welcomed whoever you are and wherever you work. We also recognise and celebrate colleagues when they go the extra mile and, where possible, offer flexible working.

When you join our team, we'll also offer you an amazing range of benefits. Here are some of them:

We've also got you covered for your future with our pensions scheme and life cover. You'll also be able to share in our success as you may be eligible for a performance-related bonus of up to 20% of salary (which may vary for Nectar360), depending on how we perform.
